Connecticut Winter Storm Chester

Standard

Winter Storm Chester aka Winter Storm Janus. No big deal. No catastrophe. No power loss. Not even too much snow. Just 5-6 inches of white fluffy stuff with really cold temperatures that didn’t get above 18° F yesterday and are hovering around 12° F with a “feels like” temperature of -6° F due to the 20 mph winds. No snow shoveling today. Sorry. I don’t need to go anyplace, so I’m staying indoors. Hopefully, tomorrow the winds will be calmer so we can start cleaning up. Although the driveway has been plowed it takes a couple of days to clear it off enough so that I can drive my car up and down without getting stuck (slope and no snow tires). House is warm, we have food, electricity and internet. All is well.

Mountain laurel and white pine tree stand out above the white blanket of snow. The green metal stakes on the outside of my front garden stand like reminders of last summer’s garden.
