Early Spring in Connecticut

Standard

The temperatures are creeping up slowly but surely. It is nippy out there right now. Yesterday morning when I headed out, because the sun and blue skies beckoned me with temptations of spring, it was barely 40, if even that. It was cold. I was glad of the lined leather gloves we use around here as work gloves. Today there is a possibility that it might reach the mid-50’s. With temps like that my plants are starting to come up, at least some of them. I thought I might give you a bit of a challenge this morning. I will provide four closeups and you can try to guess what they are. The reveal will follow.

Let’s start with two easy ones:

Bleeding hearts making an appearance. I planted these about 9 years ago and still have 3 of the 5 originally planted.
